Super TwinBee Devil (スーパーツインビーデビル Sūpā TsuinBī Debiru) is the final boss in Pop'n TwinBee.
Description[]
A giant mecha piloted by Dr. Mardock. Super TwinBee Devil resembles a purple bumblebee android, similar to those from the TwinBee Team, although of gigantic proportions. Initially, two revolver-like barrels can be seen on its back and it apparently lacks arms, and instead of a canopy it has a huge 'X' shaped window all across its frontal part, which acts as its weak spot.
When first encountered, the mecha will be stationary and being fueled by two giant hoses; these will detach shortly afterward and disappear. Subsequently, a couple of cranes will descend from the top and attach two giant cannons to the boss, one on each side. At this point, the rear barrels will start moving and reveal to be attached to a pair of highly articulated arms.
The machine will then start walking slowly across the screen, following the player. The cannons shoot pink plasma balls straightforward and in succession. The hands are more mobile and every once in a while they'll stop to shoot several bullets straight down. The mecha will also fire a series of small missiles from its rear launchers, which will then come back down and use slight tracking to target the player's ship.
All these weapons –the two hands and two cannons– can be destroyed separately in order to lessen the threat the machine poses. Once all four are down, the 'X' shaped window will become vulnerable and the boss will enter its second phase, where it will launch missiles more frequently, shoot volleys of multicolored plasma balls from the parts where the cannons were attached, and will move much faster, using this enhanced speed to attempt to ram into the player's ship.
Once defeated, the mecha will explode and Dr. Mardock will be sent flying out in the sky, fortunately regaining his normal self afterward. The credits of the game will then start rolling accompanied by a marching parade of Acorn Squad as backdrop.
