Melon (メロン Meron?) is a playable character in Bombergirl, a spinoff game of the Bomberman series. She is the manifested child of Princess Melora. She is a "Blocker" type character and is one of the two representatives of the TwinBee series in the game, alongside Pastel. She was teased in a series of tweets beginning on October 28, 2022, and was fully revealed on November 7 that same year.

She is voiced by Kikuko Inoue, who also voices Princess Melora in the TwinBee series.

History[]

Melon is the manifested child of Princess Melora from the TwinBee series. She descended from the heavens into the world, sensing the signs of evil. She is a galactic goddess idol who secures the peace of the universe, and she is also a member of the Pretty Bombers idol group, where she is the self-proclaimed true leader. She is a "Blocker" type bombergirl.

  • Melon's name comes from the melon fruit and color, referencing her pastel green color theme. Her name is also derived from her mother Melora.
  • According to the comic page where Princess Melora manifests her as a daughter, it is heavily implied that Melon is a part of her consciousness that acts more or less independently.
  • Melon has the spade (♤) as a symbol, while Momoko has a heart (♡), Prune a diamond (♢), and Pine a clover (♧), which all allude to respective playing card suits.
  • Melon is the 23rd character added to Bombergirl.
  • Her rod in shape of a bell and the Bell's rainbow color references the Rainbow Bell of the TwinBee series, and also somehow references the "Rainbow Bombergirl Event".
  • Her character video introduction is a reference to Detana!! TwinBee and shows a portion of it. The music used is "Beginning of an Adventure" from Pop'n TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventures.
  • Melon is voiced by Kikuko Inoue, who also voiced Princess Melora in the TwinBee series.
