Hideo Ishikawa (石川 英郎 Ishikawa Hideo) (born December 13, 1969) is a Japanese voice actor and narrator from Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. He is currently affiliated with Aoni Production.
He is most known for voicing Kicchō Fukuda in Slam Dunk, Auron in Final Fantasy X, Itachi Uchiha in Naruto, Squall Leonhart in Final Fantasy VIII and Kingdom Hearts, Jūshirō Ukitake in Bleach, Pierre de Chaltier in Tales of Destiny, and Ryoma Nagare in many of the newer Getter Robo OVAs and Super Robot Wars games.
He voiced Ace, the Wonderlandian paramour of Queen Melody, in TwinBee Yahho!: Fushigi no Kuni de Ōabare!!
Career[]
Hideo Ishikawa studied opera at Soai University, Faculty of Music, Department of Vocal Music. He later quit college and became a voice actor. He moved to Tokyo from Kansai and entered the 12th term of Seiji Juku Tokyo School.
After graduating from high school, Ishikawa considered to follow a career in either martial arts or music, both of which he was good at. He went to the vocal music department of the Faculty of Music, Soai University, and while he wasn't aiming to become a singer, he became involved in opera anyway, attracted by its requirement of hand gestures and facial expressions. He eventually quit college and aspired to become a full stage actor. In addition to theater, he was also interested in singing, narrating and DJing, all of which he could fulfill through a career in voice acting.
After joining Aoni Juku Tokyo School, he became affiliated with Aoni Production. His first job was an appearance in a corporate video. After that, his regular voiceover in CS was decided. At the same time, he made regular appearances on the CS-PCM audio broadcast radio Ultra Mania Banzai, Aim! Voice Actor Koshien. This was a project by radio personality Akira Kamiya for training newcomers, whom Ishikawa received the most guidance from and who he considers his master in voice acting, to the point of stating that he was "extremely moved" when he played the same role originally played by Kamiya in the OVA version of Getter Robo. He also played the role of Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star, also played by Kamiya, in the PSP game Laou Gaiden Ten no Haou.
He has taken over some roles from the late Ken Yamaguchi and Seizo Kato.
His range is C2-C4.
