Donburi Island is a downloadable stage in Otomedius Excellent. It is based on Donburi Island, the main setting from the TwinBee series, although reimagined into the style of the Otomedius world. It came included in the third DLC package for the game, "The Reunion".
Overview[]
A recreation of Donburi Island but accordingly reshaped to fit the Otomedius world. A sunny, tropical level that is a reimagining of the iconic setting from the TwinBee series. Many of the island's classic landmarks can be found here, although with a modernized look, such as the Crab Mechanism train and the island's two iconic mountains.
Several references to the classic TwinBee characters can be seen along the billboards that appear in the background, such as Madoka, Dr. Warumon and Princess Melora.
The boss of this level is none other than WinBee (although in a gigantic version), who prior to the battle hits herself on the head against a metal tower for flying carelessly and turns evil, much to Pastel's horror. She attacks by shooting her revolver, striking with her Olympic ribbon, performing a giant punch, releasing several bombs, and is assisted by four spinning "Option" drones that shoot at once, filling the screen with bullets.
